Work in and around Tahiti

Going with a little different format. Since my last posts, we have been hanging around Marina Taina and Papeete. We had two wonderful nights back at Sarah Nui again last Thursday through Saturday to recharge the batteries. We got a windlass solenoid from Alan on the boat Victoria and finally got the winch motor back on Wednesday. They graciously gave it to us for free because they took a week and a half to fix it and it took probably all of twenty minutes of labor to fix.  Here is how it looks all wired up:

It works like a champ. Jenna and I removed the old boot tape and caulked the mast to deck interface. Koelby and I installed new boot tape and then I made a DIY UV mast boot cover out of a cotton laundry bag and some string.

Lastly, I am in the process of repainting the hundred-foot lines on the anchor chain. Three-hundred foot line is half done:

We are waiting another day for the Yamaha outboard motor parts to be released from customs. Jenna and I have been able to shift our mindset to "another vacation day in Tahiti."

The Edlund's 2 week mark...

So the Edlund's have been here 2 weeks now and the boat hasn't moved... Are we bad luck? I sure hope not because we are looking to set sail on saturday!! Wish us luck and check out Jessica's Journal for all the details so far.

We really shouldn't complain should we?

Still stuck in Tahiti...

I know, I know, "stuck" is really not a good way to describe it, but we actually can't move the boat right now because we're waiting on our windlass motor (the part that hauls up the anchor) to be repaired. In the mean time, here's some pictures!
